Oldmeldrum Sports & Highland Games

How to get there

Oldmeldrum lies approximately 17 miles north west of Aberdeen on the A947 road from Aberdeen to Banff.

The town is served by regular bus services from Aberdeen and many locations throughout the North East of Scotland (
click here for timetable information from Aberdeenshire Council). There is also a train service from Aberdeen and Inverness to Inverurie, about 5 miles from Oldmeldrum.

If arriving by car from the south remain on the A947 until you reach Oldmeldrum. The Pleasure Park is located on your right roughly half a mile after entering the town.

If arriving from the west (Inverurie direction) on the A920 turn left just after the town hall square and local shops and follow the signs for Banff.

If arriving from the north on the A947 the Pleasure Park will be on your left around 400 yards after entering the town.

Parking

The main car park will be at the Glebe Park field off the main A947 Aberdeen-Banff road. Travelling north, it is on the left hand side of the road just after Meldrum Motors garage and filling station. It is well signposted and the parking fee is a very reasonable £2 for the whole day.

Coach drivers are reminded that they are not permitted to park in the courtyard area. Coach parking will be at the Distillery.

On-street parking in the town itself is permitted where yellow lines allow but please avoid the streets close to the Pleasure Park itself as these are used as mashalling areas for pipe bands, display vehicles etc. and will be subject to Police parking restrictions. These roads would also be used by emergency vehicles when required.
